The Rosskopf toboggan run in Sterzing is the longest snow-covered and floodlit toboggan run in Italy with a length of 9.6 km and at the same time one of the longest toboggan-runs in Europe; In 2011 the Rosskopf/Monte Cavallo toboggan run was the ADAC test winner in an international competition. For a active winter holiday in the mountains with lots of different sport activities, you will find about 100km of cross-country skiing trails in the surrounding area of Sterzing/Vipiteno. 50km of slopes are in the cross-country skiing paradise of Ridnaun Ratschings with a circular trail, a valley trail and a high-altitude trail. You can also visit the challenging circular trails in other surrounding valleys of Sterzing/Vipiteno.
The biathlon centre in the Ridnaun Valley is a true cross-country paradise. Equipment can be rented directly at the cross-country skiing centre there.
BIATHLON TRAINING CENTER IN RIDNAUN
In the cross-country skiing and biathlon centre in the Ridnaun Valley, the European Championship was held in 2018 and further competitions such as the IBU Cup finals in the biathlon stronghold in South Tyrol’s winter are on the program for March 2021. You can visit the training centre and take part in a biathlon taster course too, which is supervised by our testimonial of the hotel and well-known biathlete Karin Oberhofer.
